The 1st Hazelbrook Scout Group is part of a global voluntary, non-political, educational movement of young people, supported by adults. It is open to, and inclusive of all. Today’s Scouts can take part in an extraordinary variety of outdoor activities and learn traditional Scouting skills such as camping and bushcraft, through to more extreme challenges such as abseiling and overnight hiking. Scouts Australia encourages youth members to develop skills and attitudes which will stand them in good stead throughout the rest of their lives. Our programs are designed to develop initiative, self reliance, leadership, responsibility, respect and consideration for others.
Story Garden is the creation of Blue Mountains locals Sharon Baldwin and Naomi Crew, and is located in Lawson, NSW. Nestled within Rosey Ravelston’s Bookstore, Story Garden is a dedicated children’s bookshop and workshop space specialising in new and pre-loved books, toys and creative materials.
Alongside the store, we host regular story times, workshops and family events. Our hope is that Story Garden becomes a place where curiosity is nurtured, imaginations are encouraged to bloom, and a lifelong love of reading can grow.
